As part of a warehouse conversion, MJF installed a new resin floor, transforming the space into a high standard food processing facility for a national Kosher butchers and delicatessen who offer an assortment of affordable and quality products.
As a national food processor who prepare and deliver a range of meats and cooked foods daily, there became a growing need for a new high class processing facility to aid increasing demand. Hygiene, safety and easiness to clean were key factors to consider for this project.
During a four month period, our specialist team installed Isopol SBR which has flexural strength and excellent water resistance qualities.
We specified SBR polymer modified screeds for Kosher Deli as free flowing water to drainage was an essential requirement. Polymer screeds were applied at the correct degree of slope to reach drainage without assistance.
The recognised floor thickness standard for a modern food processing facility is between 6mm-9mm, so we finished the floors with a mixture of 6mm and 9mm polyurethane screed.
The kerbs were rendered in polyurethane coving mortar and installed up to 300mm high, and polysulphide jointing compound was applied to expansion joints and around hygienic stainless drainage.
Working alongside other trades on site and Kosher Deli as they moved in with sectional handover was challenging at times which made teamwork and communication imperative throughout the project.
